The heat source and radiator can be manually adjusted, easy to operate, equipped with the heat calibration calibrator which ensures the accuracy of the test results.

Consists of 1 group radiation heat source and 2 convection heat sources, and the radiation heat source consists of 9 infrared quartz tube, whilst the convection heat source consists of two standard Meker burner.

Application of Thermal Radiation Protection Performance Test

The thermal radiation performance test is mainly used to determine the thermal radiation protection performance of thermal protective clothing. Because thermal radiation is one of the main forms of thermal injury, this method can be used to test and evaluate the thermal protection performance of thermal protective clothing, and it has been widely used in forest fire protection and other fields.

The thermal protection performance tester is used to test the thermal protection performance of protective clothing, safety shoes, gloves, helmet exterior surface, etc. The thermal protection performance of the material is tested under the action of a given source of heat radiation. According to NFPA 1971, ASTM D4018, GB 8965.1-2009, ISO 17492, and so on.

Test Principle

The thermal radiation protection test is as follows: place the sample vertically in front of a specific heat radiation source. Within a specified distance, the heat source radiates the sample, and measure the time required to cause a second-degree burn of the human skin by the copper tube calorimeter behind the sample. Then calculate the total heat under certain time and exposure condition. The larger the total heat value, the better the thermal radiation resistance of the thermal protective clothing.

The Characteristics of Heating Resistance Tester

5 The resolution of the temperature acquisition system is 0.1℃, and the test results are more accurate.

Operation Method

1 Cut five samples according to the specified size and wet them in the standard atmosphere, then put the sample into the sample holding device, keep the sample clamping flat, and put it into the tester.

2 Turn on the power supply, adjust the output voltage of the transformer, ensure that the infrared heating quartz tube has the specified radiation heat. When the infrared quartz tube is preheated for 60 seconds, remove the heat source preheating shielding device, expose the sample to the prescribed radiation heat vertically, and turn on the recorder at the same time.

3 When the sample is exposed to the heat source for 30 seconds, turn off the power supply and recorder, put on the preheating shielding device, remove and cool the copper tube calorimeter.

4 A new test can be conducted only when the equivalent calorimeter temperature drops to 33℃. Record the test results to evaluate the thermal radiation resistance of the fabric.
